Croatia Airlines Cabin Luggage Rules

Your hand luggage must be placed in the overhead cabin or under the seat.
For hand luggage, all passengers in Economy Class are allowed 01 baggage and 01 personal item.
Meanwhile, those in Business Class will have 02 baggage, but this is not guaranteed. Depending on the type of aircraft, Business Class can also be limited to 01 baggage.
- The maximum weight for each handbag is 8kg, with dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm (118cm).
- Foldable garment bags measuring 57 x 54 x 15 cm are also accepted for Business Class passengers.
- The required size for personal items is the same for both classes: 40 x 30 x 10 cm.
Like any other airline, your cabin luggage will be placed in the overhead compartment and under the seat. Your luggage might be transported as checked luggage if it exceeds the required limit (with an extra fee) or the aircraft size doesn’t meet the needs (with no extra fee).
Croatia Airlines also provides extra luggage if you travel with children.
-
For infants under 2, the cabin luggage allowance includes a stroller or one child car seat or one child carrier, plus baby food for the flight.
-
Strollers, car seats and carriers must be handed over at the gate or before boarding for loading into the cargo hold.
-
A car seat is allowed onboard only if the passenger has booked a seat for the child.
For the ill and disabled, a prosthetic device is included in the hand luggage.

Make sure your carry-on fits so you never have to pay bag fees.
Croatia Airlines Checked Bag Allowance
For the checked bag, Croatia Airlines offers 5 types of fares: FlyEasy, FlyOpti, FlyFlexi, FlyBWise, and FlyBizz. Each of which has different requirements, and extra benefits will be given to M&M members. However, regardless of class, your baggage size can’t exceed a total of 158 cm (length + width + height).
For the FlyEasy class, no checked luggage is allowed, unless you are a HON Circle, Senator or Star Gold member. In which case, 01 package of 23kg is allowed.
You can always purchase checked luggage at a price starting from 16 € for domestic flights and 30 € for international ones if you purchase at least 24 hours before the flight. After that, the price will increase to 24 € and 40 € respectively.
For the FlyOpti and FlyFlexi classes, common travellers, including infants and adults, are provided with 01 package of 23kg. Meanwhile, Eligible Miles & More status members receive additional checked baggage.
For FlyBWise and FlyBizz travellers, infants will get 01 package of 23kg. Adults, children and Frequent Flyers (Silver) members have 02 packages of 32kg. And other memberships (HON Circle, Senator and Star Gold) have 03 packages of 32kg.
Croatia Airlines Excess Bag Fees
Regarding the excess fees for oversize checked luggage, Croatia Airlines separates into 02 types: for the FlyEasy class and for the others.
FlyEasy Travellers
You already have to pay for the first checked bag following the stated price above, except for those who are HON Circle, Senator or Star Gold members. However, if your bag exceeds the requirements of 23kg and 158cm, you will have to pay extra, depending on the flight, the number of bags, and the condition of your bag.

The easiest way to avoid the hefty fees? Start with the right bag.
Sports equipment
Croatia Airlines divides sports equipment into 02 categories: small and large. The details for the equipment for common sports are all stated clearly on their website.
Sports equipment weighing over 32 kg and/or measuring over 315 cm is transported as cargo. Sports equipment longer than 201 cm should be transported only on the Airbus fleet.
In some cases, for example, with golf, you might even have a bag free of charge if you are an HON Circle or Senator of Miles & More member. Otherwise, you will be charged based on the flight and the size of your equipment.

This fee will be added during the booking process and is refundable before the flight. However, passengers who buy this on departure day for international flights from Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina will be charged an extra 10 €.
Of course, you can choose to pack your sports equipment together with the remaining package. In this case, it will be treated as checked or hand luggage, including the excess fee.
CPAP
Usually, CPAP is allowed on board as carry-on luggage, but it’s best to contact Croatia Airlines to confirm whether it counts as part of the regulated luggage.
Though carrying it is allowed, using it might not be. Croatia Airlines stipulates that only company bottles of air can be used.
Passengers must request no later than 72 hours before departure time, and will be charged 60 € per flight.
You will also need to provide documents to demonstrate agreement and for verification.
Portable oxygen concentrators are also allowed, provided your physicians verify and Croatia Airlines issues technical clearance.
Booking and Check-in Process

Booking with the Croatia Arilines is simple.
The booking and check-in process for your flight with Croatia Airlines doesn’t differ much compared to other airlines. Usually, most of the information you need for your baggage allowance will also be provided during this process.
How to book your ticket
To book a ticket from Croatia Airlines, you can visit a third-party platform to compare the price. However, it’s best to buy directly on their platforms, as they will provide the latest information regarding the changes.
All you have to do is follow 03 step:
-
Step 01: Select your flight
To begin buying the ticket, fill in your information for the desired flight, such as your departure and return dates, the number of passengers, etc. The system will provide different range of flight options that suit your needs.
In case flights on the date you chose aren’t available, a calendar of the nearest available flights will also be provided.
After you have confirmed the dates, you can now proceed to choose the flight time with the suitable fare. The benefit of each fare will also be stated and compared directly with the others. All details related to your choice will appear in the column to the right of the screen.
-
Step 02: Fill in details
Continue your booking by filling in your personal information. Your name, contact information and emergency contact will be required.
After that, you can book additional services if needed, including your baggage and seat selection for both departure and return flights.
-
Step 03: Finish payment
The final step to confirm your booking with Croatia Airlines is to pay. The total to be paid is the total of your tickets, the services, taxes and fees. You can easily check the information again by choosing the “Show full price detail” option.
Once you agree to the terms & conditions and have finished the payment, information about your ticket will be sent to the contact you provided.
Besides their website, you can also buy the ticket through their app. The process is mostly the same.
Check-in process with Croatia Airlines
Croatia Airlines offers 04 ways to check in: online through their website and app, or offline at the airport at the counter and with their machines.
Online check-in
you can check in up to 36 hours before the flight without queuing. Like any other airline, you still have to drop off your checked luggage (if any) at the counter beforehand.
However, keep in mind that some flights are not eligible for web check-in. Croatia provides a list of them with the flight number and destinations on their website.
Airport Counters
For those who prefer to check in offline, make sure you arrive at the airport at least 120 minutes before departure time. If you go to the counter, all you need to do is queue and then provide your information to the staff.
Kiosk Machines
Meanwhile, if you choose the check-in machine, you might have to provide some identification document. And remember to research beforehand, as not every airport has this kind of check-in method available.

-
How strict is Croatia Airlines with carry-on?
You’ll find plenty of mixed reviews online about how strict certain airlines actually are. Some travellers swear they got away with a bag that was a few centimetres over, while others got caught out and fined at the gate. But here’s our advice: Stick to the rules and dimensions, and you’re sorted. As long as your bag fits within their official limits, you can breeze straight through boarding and focus on your holiday.
